GENERAL ENGINEER

Position Description

You will serve as a Combat Survivability Engineer in the Systems Acquisition Group, Systems Engineering Department, Combat Survivability Division of NAVAIRWARCENC DIV.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will provide independent technical engineering support for combat survivability activities.
• You may support fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, or weapon systems throughout various phases of the Department of War (DoW) acquisition lifecycle.
• You will apply professional engineering judgment to plan, execute, assess, and communicate combat survivability analyses, test activities, technical products, and program recommendations.
• You will independently perform assigned work with minimal oversight; lead discrete technical efforts; support project planning and resourcing; and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior engineers.
• You will communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• You will apply survivability principles to system design, requirements, technology assessments, trade studies, test planning, analysis, and engineering recommendations.
• You will prepare and present decision-quality briefings that explain technical findings, assumptions, risks, alternatives, and recommended courses of action.
• You will participate in program reviews, technical interchange meetings, integrated product team meetings, design reviews, test readiness events, and other technical forums.
• You will lead small teams or discrete technical work efforts, as assigned, without exercising formal supervisory authority.
