EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (WEIGHT HANDLING EQUIPMENT PROGRAM MANAGER)

You will serve as a WEIGHT HANDLING EQUIPMENT PROGRAM MANAGER in the Maintenance Planning Branch (KN261) and Facility & Equipment Maintenance Division (KN26) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent will function as the Program Manager for the Command's Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) and NAVFAC P-307 Navy Crane Center requirements.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will serve as the WHE Program Manager (WHE PM) and subject matter expert on weight handling equipment operations, maintenance, testing, inspections, certification, as well as crane and rigging.
- You will serve as the primary point of contact between FRCSW, other external agencies and other auditors.
- You will develop IQR/training requirements for certification of maintenance personnel.
- You will provide technical support for crane maintenance including updating cranes specification sheets and modifying maintenance job plans and intervals.
- You will ensure that written instructions are developed and approved for complex lifts.
- You will receive, disseminate, and clarify all NCC directives pertinent to FRCSW.
- You will establish and manage FRCSW crane surveillance program to include operations, maintenance, testing, inspections, certification, as well as crane and rigging accident investigations and reports.
- You will review technical information from manufacturers and other sources and work with engineering to interpret and adapt this information for local applications.
