Position Description

The incumbent will serve as an IT Lead for one or more programs. The incumbent is a senior specialist in a field such as Facilities and Equipment Operations, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Information Technology, and/or in other similar areas, and can generate and manage highly complex infrastructure and IT requirements across multiple security levels. The incumbent has expert knowledge in Information Technology security policies and constraints and is familiar with facilities contracting requirements and configuration and data management best practices. The individual assigned to the billet must currently hold an Active DOD Top Secret security clearance based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Tier 5 with the ability to obtain an SCI. The candidate should currently possess or obtain a DoD 8140 certification as an Advanced 451 System Administrator within the first six months of employment as well as DOD 8570.01 Operational System Certification; able to travel periodically in support of the organizations’ cybersecurity operations and cyber-thrusts.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
1. Plans, executes, and recommends actions under general direction from program leadership while exercising independent judgment.
2. Oversee the day-to-day technical operation, maintenance, and security of the program’s IT architecture and cybersecurity strategies and recommend solutions to program leadership regarding technical and/or organizational challenges.
3. Maintains consistent, clear, and continuous communication with all team members and leadership, identifying areas of risk or concern early and often.
4. Directs and mentors a diverse team specializing in configuration and data management (CDM), facilities management, network administration, system administration, information security, COMSEC, and high-performance computational engineering.
5. Plans, prioritizes, and coordinates work assignments for the team based on program priorities, and collaborates with other program team to ensure requirements are accurately captured and products are delivered on schedule.
6. Ensure implementation of Information System security measures and procedures in accordance with the Joint SAP Implementation Guide, including reporting incidents to the ISSM or CISSM, Authorizing Official (AO) and appropriate reporting chains and coordinating system-level responses to unauthorized disclosures in accordance with DoD Manual 5200.01, "DoD Information Security Program," February 24, 2012.
7. Promoting awareness of security issues among management and ensuring sound security principles are reflected in organizations' visions and goals.
