INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER

Position Description

rovides warhead support for the Sidewinder Technical Project Office (TPO), and acts as the Technical Design Agent for the WDU-17/B Warhead for the Sidewinder AIM-9  System. Primarily serves as technical advisor for the production of the WDU-17/B warhead, and investigate a potential new warhead development.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Assess contractor production process changes and process qualification activities, including on-site process reviews

• Conduct Government technical investigations to establish path forward in resolving Warhead production issues

• Participate in contractor investigations and corrective action/process improvement activities

• Review contractor proposed variances, support risk assessments and provide technical rational for the acceptance/rejection of such variances

• Identify and recommend updates to current WDU-17/B TDP, and process ECP/NOR for TDP updates

• Research, recommend, support potential warhead modernization efforts

• Support energetics reviews and technical interchange meetings

 

The ideal candidates will have excellent analytical, written and, verbal communication skills. Small scale project management skills including budgeting, schedule development, and risk management are desired.
