EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (CORROSION)

Position Description

You will serve as an Equipment Specialist (Corrosion) in the Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Services Center (NATEC) in either Camp Pendleton, CA or Jacksonville, NC. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will provide technical advice, support, and instruction to internal and external contacts on the acceptance, installation, inspection, operation, maintenance, and documentation of aviation systems.
• You will advise technicians on methods of inspection, identification, mitigation, repair, and research and analysis to resolve problems with corrosion on aircraft systems.
• You will propose changes, additions and recommendations for improvement of weapons systems, their support equipment and associated logistics issues.
• You will assist, train and demonstrate the best methods of prevention, inspection, treatment and documentation of corrosion.
