SECURITY SPECIALIST

Position Description

You will serve as the Command Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (CGSSO) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) at China Lake, CA and Point Mugu, CA (to include San Nicholas Island).

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will serve as the appointed subject matter expert (SME) to the NAWCWD SAP Management Officer (SAPMO) for all SAP activities involving the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, or other government agencies, nations, or contractors.
• You will establish a campus wide security environment to facilitate successful development and execution of SAPs at each location and eliminate duplicating efforts when possible.
• You will support unique program integration across multiple platforms.
• You will provide guidance, direction, coordination, and oversight to designated security leads/security specialists to ensure that all elements of SAP security are administered effectively, efficiently, and in a coordinated manner
• You will execute command wide plan for Field Assist Visits (FAV) to promote inspection readiness.
• You will appoint Government SAP Security Officers (GSSO) and ensure they are properly trained to perform their duties.
• You will communicate, both orally and in writing, risk analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• You will coordinate security support for complex multiagency testing and training events.
