Position Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER for the Flight Controls Branch in the AEROMECHANICS DIVISION, AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will direct and supervise a multidisciplinary branch of approximately 45 engineers and scientists, managing performance, recruitment, resource allocation, and professional development.
  • You will serve as the senior technical authority on flight control systems, exercising safety-of-flight decision authority for clearances, groundings, and airworthiness standards.
  • You will oversee the engineering lifecycle of primary, secondary, and integrated flight control systems across research, acquisition, testing, and operational fleet support phases.
  • You will deliver technical consultation and conflict resolution to program managers, leadership, and integrated program teams to resolve complex flight control challenges.
  • You will establish and refine branch policies, engineering processes, design standards, and training programs to ensure personnel readiness, certification, and compliance.
  • You will lead technology innovation and research integration, evaluating emerging advancements in flight-critical hardware and software to support future defense aviation platforms.
