This position is located in the Production Lines Division, MRO Production Department at the Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs), East, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and/or Southwest. The
Pneudraulic Systems Worker follows detailed maintenance and repair procedures in performing bench work involving the inspection, repair and maintenance of parts and subassemblies of
hydraulic, pneudraulic, pneumatic, fuel and electrical components.

Position Duties/Responsibilities
Incumbent disassembles, assembles, modifies, and repairs assigned hydraulic, pneudraulic, pneumatic, fuel and electrical accessories. Replaces prescribed parts, checks dimensions and
tolerances of parts to determine the serviceability, making corrections as necessary. Bench tests leakage and operability of moving parts. The work includes visually inspecting for obvious defects such as scratches, corrosion, or bent or broken parts of various aircraft assemblies and subassemblies, replacing or reworking damaged parts.
The incumbent works on systems such as pneumatic valves and regulators, air starters, cooling turbines, fuel pumps and controls, fuel accessories, hydraulic pumps and starters, actuators,
electro-hydraulic servos, auxiliary power unit subassemblies, gas turbine subassemblies, etc. Installs safety seals, and reworks complex components and makes ready for issue both complex and more complex units.
The incumbent must make internal adjustments during overhaul and test of the less complex fuel, oil, and pneumatic components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. Must make critical
dimensional checks during the qualitative evaluation of the parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and less complex pneumatic components.
The incumbent determines whether to rework or replace parts that exceed allowable thresholds based on visual/mechanical detection of unusual wear patterns, and measurements on
disassembled parts when compared to the applicable specifications.
The incumbent works from various technical manuals, drawings, blueprints, and other technical information required to perform tasks associated with the examination and
evaluation, rework, modification, disassembly, assembly, overhaul, and minor testing of less complex components and subassemblies.
The incumbent may perform limited electrical work assignments, such as, repairing or replacing switches, connectors, or wire harnesses, etc., when it is an integral part or
subassembly of a hydraulic or pneudraulic component.
May be required to assist higher graded pneudraulic systems mechanic on assignments involving pneumatics assemblies and components of greater complexity.
The more complex tasks will be accomplished under the guidance of higher level employees. The incumbent may be rotated to other areas within the pneudraulics trade to meet work load
demands.
May be required to train and/or mentor other artisans at the same or lower grade level.
