Engineering Technician

Position Description

You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Fiber Optics and Electronics Engineering Technician) in the Advanced Manufacturing and Prototype Engineering Branch (BL41200) within the Prototype Manufacturing Division in the Prototyping Manufacturing and Test (PMT) Department of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will serve as the subject matter expert in the fiber optics and electronics production, installation, and repair of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS), Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Systems, Aircraft Lighting Systems.
• You will serve as the subject matter expert in ALRE and avionics Support Equipment (SE) electronics systems in both shipboard and shore-based environments.
• You will lead and coordinate shipboard and shore-based repair and installations of fiber optics for ALRE and SE systems.
• You will develop drawings and other technical documentation with fleet activities and industry.
• You will lead effort to expand maintainability and repair capability of fiber optic cables at PMD.
