SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER

Position Description

You will serve as a Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) Training Leader in the in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The duty locations of the 2 vacancies are: Camp Pendleton, California and Naval Air Station San Diego, California

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will conduct formal training and on the job training for the full range of Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics duties on fixed, rotary wing and trainer aircraft and aircraft components.
• You will assign tasks to immediate workers, relay supervisor's instructions and provide guidance to workers on methods and procedures.
• You will perform journeyman level tasks in areas such as aircraft lines, ground check, flight test and various component overhaul and repair shops.
• You will dissemble, modify, repair, and assemble structural and aerodynamic parts on aircrafts and aircraft components.
• You will provide leadership to assigned personnel and assist in the training of personnel in the tasks associated with the sheet metal trade.
