Position Description

You will serve as the F-35C Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) responsible to provide multi-disciplinary engineering leadership and support for the F-35C Air System in PEO (JSF) coordinating with JPO, USN and/or USMC leadership. You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AIR PLATFORM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, PEO (JSF) PROGRAM BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will lead the planning, assigning, managing, and coordinating of engineering tasks to ensure safety, readiness, and airworthiness of the F-35C fleet.
  • You will maintain technical and airworthiness integrity of the F-35C air system throughout the lifecycle through adherence to airworthiness and systems engineering best practices.
  • You will manage airworthiness products and ensure timely delivery in support of fleet requirements.
  • You will facilitate teamwork to ensure integration all new hardware and software systems will meet customer expectations.
  • You will ensure technical requirements for projects are met through proper tasking and coordination of available professional/technical resources.
  • You will provide technical assessments to ensure that all technical requirements are addressed in production and sustainment contracts are appropriately verified at acceptance.
  • You will review and approve Engineering Change Proposals and Technical Directives to ensure program technical baselines have been established, matured appropriately, and are under complete configuration control.
  • You will implement systems engineering processes that support production and sustainment activities.
  • You will determine feasibility of various advanced system engineering approaches with specific attention to the effects on systems due to the unique aircraft environment and operational tactics required by the mission.
  • You will implement use of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and balance that with on-going efforts for development and sustainment of advanced operational capabilities.
  • You will maintain technical and historical continuity during personnel turnover through implementation of collaborative tools and archival of technical documentation.
