MACHINIST LEADER

You will serve as a Machinist Leader in the MRO Production Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

You will provide technical leadership to artisans performing aircraft field service repairs, modifications, and rework of aircraft structures and components.
You will overhaul, repair, and modify complex aerospace fittings and structural components by interpreting blueprints, local engineering specifications, and engineering dispositions.
You will use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges) to execute high-tolerance machining operations in accordance with aerospace specifications.
You will conduct multifaceted dimensional and structural inspections on aircraft modules, including flight control surfaces, wing structures, pylons, and landing gear assemblies.
You will remove, design, fabricate, and install precision-fit bushings and sleeve assemblies on various complex aircraft modules and structures.
You will set up, program, and safely operate manual mill and lathe machinery to manufacture replacement parts from specialized aerospace alloys (e.g., titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel).
You will apply in-depth working knowledge and understanding of metals to choose proper tooling, set machine speeds, and conduct approved heat treatments.
You will maintain compliance with aviation safety protocols, tool control programs, and quality assurance standards to ensure zero-defect production.
You will utilize trade mathematics to accomplish a variety of machining and aircraft projects.
You will perform other duties as assigned.
