ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Position Description

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Carrier Suitability Department of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two Three (VX-23) of NAVTESTWINGLANT NWCF.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will complete installation of electrical and electronic control systems for the operation of Catapult and Recovery systems, including the Visual Landing Aids (VLA) equipment.
• You will research requirements as needed prior to installation and be responsible for final checkout and testing of electrical control systems installed at the test sites.
• You will provide technical advice to engineers concerning any service changes or modifications relating to suitable substitutes for various components.
• You will perform as a facility specialist, which duties include the application of knowledge, practices, principles, theories, concepts, methods and techniques for one or more disciplines within the field.
• You will install, maintain, repair, and modify equipment such as boilers, feed pumps. fuel oil heaters, and other auxiliary equipment.
• You will design and set up jigs and fixtures to secure parts in proper alignment for welding.
