SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL/AEROSPACE ENGINEER

You will serve as a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer or Supervisory Aerospace Engineer in the Air Systems Group, Air Vehicle Engineering Department, Aeromechanics Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will serve as a Branch-level Section Head and technical expert team lead and oversees a subset of all relevant Navy, Marine Corps, and joint service aircraft programs, products, and services supported by the Branch.
- You will have professional knowledge of aeromechanics technical concepts, principles and practices of aeronautical engineering to enable the incumbent to serve as a leader in the Branch’s technical area.
- You will evaluate and apply new technical developments and to use innovative methods in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional methods.
- You will plan, acquire, negotiate and tracks team funding and ensures that all team members are appropriately funded for the fiscal year and coordinates funding.
- You will responsible for the technical control of the engineering process in terms of their technical discipline and developmental test requirements.
- You will provide technical advice to Branch members, establishing and improving technical processes, and for representing the US Navy to other DoD services, industry, and academia.
- You will review correspondence, recommendations, technical evaluations and products prepared by team members to ensure that engineering assessments are accurate, credible, and traceable to established best practices.
- You will provide leadership, oversight, planning, training, coaching, and guidance to the team and subordinates in the performance of their duties.
- You will perform supervisory responsibilities for subordinates, including the development of work performance objectives, monitoring progress, conducting performance assessments, provide feedback and assessing and rating employee performance.
- You will provide technical and programmatic guidance on task priorities to ensure the team effort meets the program objectives and schedule.
