SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Position Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Command Operations Department and Information Systems Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The duty location of this position is San Diego, California.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will develop and implement the cybersecurity strategy to meet the mission needs of the Command and provides leadership, knowledge and guidance to execute the strategy to ensure compliance with US Navy requirements.
• You will be responsible for managing relevant security (e.g. information security) implications within the organization, specific program, and/or other areas of responsibility related to this IT position.
• You will function as senior-level executive, who will establish and maintain the enterprises vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets are protected.
• You will direct staff members identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the organization.
• You will ensure security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required.
• You will ensure that cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated for the network environment in addition to ensuring that cybersecurity requirements are integrated into the continuity planning for that system and/or organization(s).
• You will advise other IT experts on a variety of situations/issues that involve applying or adapting new theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods, or practices, that are developed by the employee or results from the employee’s leadership.
