GENERAL ENGINEER

Position Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Digital Analytics Infrastructure and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group, Aircraft Prototype Systems Division, Mechancial Engineering Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the overall design, fabrication and installation effort during prototype and early production installation of major new avionic upgrade programs that have significant impact on the future of naval aviation.
• You will develop new concept design requirements, detailed cost estimates and schedules for major avionic and sensor upgrade programs.
• You will assemble and lead a design team consisting of mechanical/electrical engineers and designers with the correct skill sets.
• You will serve as Aircraft Prototyping Systems Division (APSD) project lead for major aircraft modifications projects, often participating in periodic program status meetings as an active IPT member.
• You will prepare and present informal and formal, presentations for various program design reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR) and Installation Readiness Review (IRR).
• You will be responsible for tracking cost, schedule, and technical accomplishments.
• You will be responsible for the completion and delivery of an accurate Installation Data Package consisting of the necessary engineering analysis/reports such as structural strength, mass property, delta electrical load and thermal analysis.
