You will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the FST Engineering, Support Equipment FST - Test Program Set Development (TPSD)/E2C2 of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The purpose of this position is to be the technical lead and decision authority for the design, creation, and configurations of drawings, and other Mechanical Engineering functions on Navy and Marine Corps aircraft platforms, Support Equipment, and Peculiar Support Equipment.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will lead and coordinate the technical research of serious and complex mechanical engineering issues, which usually requires many technical fields and engineering/scientific disciplines.
- You will plan and/or conduct mechanical engineering tasks individually, as a member of a team, or as project lead, depending on the complexity of the project and assigned duties.
- You will collaborate with leadership and ensure the technical engineering competence, knowledge, and professional services required to sustain the weapon system, associated components, and related support system.
- You will plan and/or conduct engineering investigations individually, as a member of a team, or as project lead, depending on the complexity of the project and assigned duties.
- You will participate in meetings and conferences convened to discuss engineering issues, problems, design, and/or development of new and/or upgraded systems and other similar matters.
- You will plan, coordinate, and conduct advanced engineering work that requires planning and developing in several phases.
- You will maintain effective communication with superiors and peers throughout NAVAIR, other government agencies and private industry regarding various engineering issues, and delivery of various briefings to meet the needs of NAVAIR.
