Position Description

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS BRANCH, AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, SUBSYSTEMS DIVISION of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will provide risk acceptance procedures for aviation hardware to characterize and accept risk.
  • You will use industry specifications such as SAE specs, MIL standards, and MIL-HDBK-516 requirement.
  • You will identify and solve a wide variety of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables and constraints.
  • You will deliver optimized technical solutions that are balanced to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints.
  • You will identify, analyze, communicate, and mitigate engineering safety risks across the system life cycle.
  • You will provide structured, safety centered responses to address technical issues without compromising minimum airworthiness requirements.
  • You will provide a structured, repeatable approach for managing simultaneous urgent requests while protecting safety, quality, and customer commitments.
  • You will provide a comprehensive, structured response that protects airworthiness while helping the program establish a documented, technically defensible path forward.
  • You will develop, review, execute, approve, and/or manage functional test, maintenance, qualification, acceptance, troubleshooting, or verification procedures for aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic hardware.
