SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER

Position Description

You will serve as the Assistant Program Manager for Engineering (APME) for the PMA-281 Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office. You will be responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated by PMA-281 in the Systems Engineering Department, Air Platform Systems Engineering Division, PEO(UW) Program Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will serve as a leader in the system simulation, requirement, and performance specification assessment of technical risk, and analysis of test and evaluation results.
• You will be responsible for the overall technical design, definition, and integration of a complex system with several major subcomponents such as propulsion, airframe, guidance, control, ordnance, fusing, avionics, software, computers, interfaces.
• You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation (e.g., Operational Requirements, Systems Concept Paper), providing authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensuring requirements are met.
• You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements.
• You will provide administrative direction with guidance typically restricted to matters of broad policy, program objectives, and budget limitations.
• You will plan and carry out the assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, coordinating the work of others, and interpreting policy on own initiative in terms of the established objectives.
