You will serve as an Interdisciplinary in the Research & Development Group in the of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE ***These are rotational assignments, one year with the potential of extending for a second year; the rotations are part of the Naval Scientist Training and Exchange Program (NSTEP).
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- OPNAV N98: Pentagon assignment serving as the Science and Technology Coordinator supporting the Director, Air Warfare in Arlington, VA.
- The Science and Technology Coordinator provides analysis using research tools, economics, and other quantitative techniques in the areas of procedural implementations and performance issues.
- Specific duties include support of all pre-Milestone A activities to include studies, Science and Technology, and Requirements definition.
- The coordinator will collaborate with Naval Aviation Enterprise stakeholders to facilitate working relationships.
- OPNAV N98: Pentagon assignment as Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) Requirements Officer (RO).
- The RO acts as liaison to OSD and Joint Staff representatives, and provides senior leadership with decision briefings.
- Determines the impact of warfighting gaps on Navy SEAD missions, the current and future technology capabilities required to address these gaps, and the priority of capability requirements to close the gaps within funding constraints.
- The incumbent will prepare long- and short-term weapons investment strategies in accordance with broad agency policies and objectives.
