Position Description

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the TURBOFAN/JET ENGINE DESIGN BRANCH, ENGINES & AUXILIARY POWER UNIT DIVISION, PROPULSION & POWER ENG DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. "***This position has a control point of GS-14 Step 10. If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is $143,913- $187,093.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will support basic design engineering products and processes for all turbine engines.
• You will support technology transition and the incorporation of technology plans and roadmaps into engine management plans.
• You will evaluate research and development projects.
• You will execute design, development and qualification programs to introduce improved designs into the fleet and to solve fleet problems.
• You will perform reliability analyses, risk analyses, component improvement and engine life management programs to ensure fully integrated and affordable engine system readiness.
• You will serve as a technical liaison with in-service engineers, component and performance specialists to provide engineering support and technical effort supervision and management.
