Position Description

You will serve as a Chemist in the Research and Development Group, Research Department, Chemistry Division, Analytical Chemistry Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will write and market proposals to secure project funding, leveraging relationships with research funding sponsors.
• You will establish basic and applied research in mass spectrometry, including developing instrumentation, enhancing system throughput, and applying these systems to Naval research and development interests.
• You will improve the speed of synthesis and analysis of novel materials by utilizing high-throughput robotics and novel accelerated reactor systems coupled with mass spectrometry.
• You will publish and patent pioneering technical research relevant to Naval applications and presenting findings at technical conferences with the intent of transferring, sharing, and applying knowledge.
• You will build and develop teams, including the mentorship of government employees to foster their growth and development.
