INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/PHYSICIST

Position Description

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/PHYSICIST in the ORDNANCE TEST & EVAL DIVISION, WEAPONS & ENERGETICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will help lead research and development efforts within the 6.1-6.4 Technology Readiness Level (TRL) to acquire and develop new knowledge and new technology in the field of detonation science to meet fleet needs.
• You will interact with internal and external sponsors and program offices to acquire funding for the research and development efforts and lead a team of scientists, engineers and technicians in the execution of the research and development efforts.
• You will help train and mentor scientists, engineers, and technicians and stay current in fundamental and state of the art detonation science principles, diagnostics, and experimentation.
• You will maintain a substantial independent publication record.
