Position Description

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics and Industrial Ops Group of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for logistics management of naval aviation aircraft, training, equipment, support equipment and airborne weapons.
  • You will integrate and manage maintenance and logistics support elements throughout their life cycle.
  • You will assist in the planning, analysis and execution of an effective Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program.
  • You will provide support to the Royal Australian Navy as it pertains to the logistics management through life support (TLS) contract.
  • You will be responsible for assisting in functions and disciplines related to the Logistic Management of the TLS to include overall planning, direction, execution, and control of all efforts related to sustainment of the weapon system/equipment.
  • You will identify and plan for personnel and functional management support required to execute the sustainment through life support strategy.
  • You will participate in discussions with the Royal Australian Navy, United States Navy, and the TLS contractor in defining levels of efforts and impacts on additional or changed requirements.
  • You will be responsible for assuring that functional elements accomplish tasks pertaining to assigned weapons system/equipment in a timely and responsive manner.
