Position Description

You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the FLEET TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION ofNAVAIRWARCENADLKE. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • You will serve as the lead technician in support of Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) systems and be responsible for functions during installation operations, overhaul, and certification of systems installed on-board aircraft carriers.
  • You will serve as a technical expert on the limitations of proven concepts and practices of the functional area e.g., problems with safety conditions, key relationships, resource limitations, or product reliability.
  • You will develop maintenance concepts, including forecasting usage rates, and establishing initial repair and replacement factors.
  • You will recommend and evaluate required operational capabilities and recommends practical design modifications.
  • You will provide guidance and makes critical judgments on matters of urgency or controversy.
  • You will ensure all reports and other documentation are submitted on time and are technically complete.
  • You will provide technical leadership during aircraft carrier maintenance availabilities.
  • You will maintain liaison with new construction, Refueling Complex Over Haul (RCOH), Docking Planned Incremental Availability (DPIA) and Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) IPTs negotiating required changes.
  • You will write technical documents outlining conditions found, difficulties encountered, corrective action taken, and recommendations for improving the reliability of Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment.
