EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Lakehurst, NJPosition Description
You will serve as the Executive Director, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) within the Lakehurst Support Equipment (SE) and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Group, covering major areas such as aircraft launch and recovery, Aviation Visual Landing Aids, Expeditionary Air Fields, avionics, handling/servicing, propulsion support equipment and aircraft/weapons platform compatibility.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will provide technical direction and guidance for the planning and execution of programs involving the research, design, acquisition, programmatic, sustainment and development of SE and ALRE systems.
- You will develop and maintain a network of contacts in private industry and academia to monitor state-of-the-art advancements in engineering, logistics and business technologies, which may be transferable to SE/ALRE initiatives.
- You will advise, counsel, and support Aviation/Naval Sea Program Executive Offices, other systems commands, aviation Type Commanders, Navy International Programs Office, government agencies, major corporations, universities and foreign governments.
- You will lead functional organizations and program management offices, formulate, oversee and enforce Department of the Navy policy; and demonstrate exemplary performance in fostering an organizational climate that sustains excellence and results.
- You will review and analyze present and future Navy requirements for the SE/ALRE mission; and develop new projects and programs to evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs while leveraging scare resources and procuring reinvestment dollars.
- You will coordinate technical and programmatic reviews of existing programs and projects for continued, modified or curtailed operation; and formulate, undertake and direct studies, which address future-oriented issues critical to SE/ALRE programs.
- You will direct the evaluation of business objectives, Net Operating Result (NOR), overhead investments, operational viability, economic viability, advocacy of Lean and Six Sigma process improvements in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.
