Aircraft Worker
- Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- You will disassemble and assemble major aircraft components, such as control surfaces and landing gear, for overhaul or modification by following detailed procedures.
- You will perform repairs by removing and replacing worn or damaged parts like gaskets, hydraulic lines, and fuel cells.
- You will install, align, and adjust aircraft systems, assemblies, and components according to established guidelines.
- You will inspect, disassemble, and reassemble aircraft parts and accessories, including armament mounts, hydraulic components, and environmental control systems.
- You will use common hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
- You will work as part of a team under the direction of senior employees to assist with complex operations like jacking aircraft or installing engines.
- You will assist with operational checkouts on the flight line, using hand signals to communicate with pilots and inspecting engines for leaks.
- You will perform flight line support duties such as standing fire guard during engine starts and operating ground power equipment.
- You will perform minor preservation duties, including inspecting aircraft for leaks and lubricating landing gear components.
- You will service aircraft systems by flushing contaminants, replacing desiccants, and obtaining oil samples for analysis.
- You will perform basic corrosion control, prepare aircraft for washing, and install protective coverings.
