Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator
- Position Duties/Responsibilities:
The incumbent receives detailed instructions for routine work assignments, follows written calibration procedures and applies comprehensive trade knowledge of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical principles to calibrate and certify equipment. They select tools, work from established methods and techniques, and carries out assignments under supervision and review of work in progress. Ensures work meets requirements by checking specifications in work orders, repair manuals, technical publication, etc. They must use sound judgment in achieving specified accuracies, sensitivities, and precise tolerances. If standards required for the calibration are not available, the incumbent refers to the Work Leader or Supervisor for direction. Completed work is reviewed to ensure requirements are met. May be required to provide technical assistance to other Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrators and reviews the work of another for tasks incumbent is qualified to perform. Unusual problems are referred to higher graded employees or supervisor for resolution. The incumbent documents the calibration process, prepare and affix calibration labels, and notes any "out of tolerances".
Incumbents are required to comply with all affected NAVAIR, FRC, and NAMP instructions pertaining to their specific area of work. Incumbents are responsible for actively participating in command goals and programs such as but not limited to Quality, Safety, FOO, tool control, housekeeping, use of work order documents and technical directives and special skill certifications. Incumbent may improve these goals and programs through Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) processes. Required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) commensurate with assigned tasks.

Incumbents of this position may be assigned collateral duties maintaining and supporting shop functions.
